Today’s winner is…Allison of District 9!
Congrats Allison, your training score is now 2!
The following tributes lose a training point due to poison:
Training score drops to 3.
Two packs of crackers and a bottle of water. That’s all I’ve got. You’ve got to be kidding me.
Mariel ran off with my stuff, my stuff. I’m the one who grabbed all the food on the first day. I should have just killed her.
The people watching must not think very much of me. After all, I let our mannequin get killed and lost a fight against the girl from 10. But I’m still the strongest male tribute outside of the boy from 2. That counts for something, right?
Not really. Once these crackers and water run out, my training score isn’t gonna keep me well-fed. I hope the feast happens soon.
Maybe I can kill Mariel too, if she decides to show up. Idiot.
I think I love Peyton.
No no I loved Peyton, but he died. But he’s here. Right? I don’t know. I’m just so confused.
We’re holding hands now. Well, I’m holding his hand. He’s just sitting there, like he usually does. But he’s not pulling away, so it must be okay. Did Peyton love me too? During his Games? That would mean that this Peyton loves me too. I hope so.
Matt left two days ago. I didn’t notice; Peyton let me know. He took most of our stuff, but it’s okay because I got to keep Peyton. He chose to stay here with me. He said it was because if he had left with Matt, I would have just followed them. And Matt apparently doesn’t like me. But I think deep down that Peyton loves me too.
The mannequins are supposed to give us a second chance at life. I don’t know about that, but a second chance at love works for me.
I hear crying.
Turning down the hallway, I see two bodies lying entwined on the floor; I pull out my knife and approach slowly. The smell of blood gets stronger and stronger as I approach.
One of the tributes on the floor has short brown hair. Must be the girl from 1. The other tribute is lying behind her, out of view. But I can tell it’s a girl from the crying.
I finally get close enough to see who the other tribute is. The girl from 9 looks up at me with puffy red eyes.
“Just end it,” she whispers.
“What happened to you?” I ask, looking at the girl from 1, who is clearly dead.
“I can’t move,” she sobs. “I killed her, and then I couldn’t move and I fell over.”
“How long have you been here?” I ask.
God. A whole day stuck holding a dead body.
“I’m sorry this happened to you,” I say, holding back tears and lifting . I’m about to make my first kill.
But before I can, a spearhead rams through my chest.
The girl from 11 groans and falls to her knees, her knife slipping out of her hand and slicing the dead girl from 9’s arm (Training Point Lost). She must be dead, from the way she’s lying there. Who knows why the girl from 11 was standing there. I guess the two dead girls look weird lying there.
The girl from 11 falls forward as I yank my spear out of her chest. She topples on top of the dead girls, and a cannon fires.
The purple veins start to fade away almost instantly. I’m healed. I’m safe. I stumble off after grabbing the girl from 11’s backpack. Plenty of food here for me.
She’s bleeding. All over me.
